Make no mistake about it, you must focus on becoming a good hitter before you talk about developing power. There are no shortcuts!
Today we are going to discuss how you develop power to all fields from a mechanical / approach standpoint, as well as the mindset.
Keys to success
You have to train your front-side move with a combination of explosive body mechanics drills:
1. Med ball swing throws (Focus on your lead-arm staying flexed with your front-shoulder / front- hip firing back. Make sure you throw the med ball under-handed.
2. Momentum Med Ball throws - Hop forward, hop backward, then stride to center before you throw the ball. (Focus on feeling your weight transfer to center, then repeat the throwing motion from med ball swing throws.
Hitting Focus Drills
You really need to focus on your initial move, so you know you’re pulling the bat through the zone not out & around it.
At C5TBA we work on building our players body, mechanics, and mindset to give them all the tools they need to drive the ball to all fields. It’s important to focus on the preparation and process of repeating your mechanics, as results will be inconsistent if your mechanics aren’t solid. Unlock your power by PREPARING TO PERFORM.
