The PP Girls Lacrosse Academy is a comprehensive training program that develops elementary, middle school, high school and college lacrosse players to perform at the highest level possible. The program will focus on fundamental, intermediate and advanced lacrosse skills and techniques, as well as speed, footwork, and strength specific to female lacrosse players. Our mission is to produce competitive female athletes that love the game and are prepared to seize the many opportunities that lacrosse offers.

In order to maintain integrity in the training, we evaluate the girls and place them in groups based on their evaluations. Below are the assessment levels.
Novice – New to lacrosse. Never played in a game. May or may not have tossed the ball outside with a friend or parent, but no formal coaching.
Beginner – Played with a stick on numerous occasions including some formal coaching. Little game experience. Still learning rules and developing comfort with the stick.
Intermediate – Played in at least a season of lacrosse having participated in practices, games, clinics, etc. Player has knowledge of basic skills and rules and can execute lacrosse skills with moderate success.
Advanced – Most likely played in multiple seasons of lacrosse, possibly club lacrosse teams. Player possesses above average knowledge of skills, strategy, and rules and can execute lacrosse skills with above average success.
Elite – Player has completed multiple seasons of club lacrosse competing in regional and possibly national tournaments. Player possesses high level of lacrosse IQ, mental toughness, and can perform a variety of advanced skills using both left and right hand under pressure situations.

Professional Experience
Emily Dees accepted the position of Director of Girls Lacrosse on December 1, 2019. Originally from Baltimore, MD, Emily played her high school lacrosse at John Carroll High School and then went on to play Division 1 at Mt St Mary's. She was a five year letter winner from 2015-2019, serving as team captain and defensive leader from her sophomore year through her redshirt senior year. Emily prides herself on being a driven leader who has exceptional communication skills and is able to get the best out of the those around her. She believes that sports are dynamic and pragmatic in the development of young women athletes. Emily earned her Bachelors Degree in Sociology and her Masters Degree in Sports Management. |
