DEVELOP YOUR SKILLS & LEARN TO COMPETE
One of our best attributes is complete field hockey athlete development. True to our Performance Pyramid, we develop the foundation, function and skills of girls field hockey athletes. The Field Hockey Skills Academy is designed to prepare you for high school and college field hockey. The tempo and intensity of the training sessions are designed to teach girls intermediate and advanced skills and have them get comfortable with combining skills as appropriate. This segment is designed for girls in the 7th-12th grades.
Offensive Skills
The best mid-field and attack players create separation to disrupt the defense, change speed quickly, and have great elimination skills. Being able to have control over the stick with both hands, pass, dribble, trap, eliminate and shoot from all angles are critical to becoming an impact offensive player.
Our offensive skills training sessions will develop your daughter’s ability to:
Defensive Skills
Great teams play great defense. An understanding of angles, distance, timing, quick footwork and strength on the ball makes a great defender. Our defensive skills training session will help give players the confidence to make decisions quicker. Being able to sweep & hit accurately with high ball speed, break up the play and mark opponents are critical to becoming an impact defensive player.
Our defensive skills training session will develop your daughter’s ability to:

- Execute backhand and forehand shots
- Shoot hard deliberate shots with speed

- Perform 1v1 circle eliminations
- Change speed on and off ball
- Understand post up, back door and tipping angles
- Dribble with vision
